CHANGE ..THE SAGA OF OVEN CLEANING!

My mother was a good house keeper and in my early recollection, we had a wood or coal stove that was transformed into a gas stove in the early 1950’s. I imagine she had to clean the oven, wouldn’t you ?

Twelve or so years later she got a new house and along with that .. a new gas stove! Of  course, at 14 years old who cares about a clean  oven? But I am sure she was just as challenged having grease and food spills on the bottom of the oven that she had to clean up, as we are today! Did I see her clean the oven ..sure I did!

When I had to clean the oven in college as I moved out of an apartment , I knew that I had to use “oven cleaner”  and found out very rapidly how I hated the process…gloves , newspaper, oven cleaner, paper towels, time consuming and fumes  that were so caustic that I had to hold my breath, and if any chemical got on my skin, it would burn! There was no alternative to cleaning an oven!

Six years ago, if you had asked me if I was a good housekeeper, well, I would have said no! Why? Well, if you checked the oven I was using then I would shamefully explain to  you that it had been 3 years since I cleaned it. That was one of my house cleaning excuses, I hated cleaning the oven!

Did I clean that dirty oven …yes I did and darn it, it was shortly after I did… that Sargent Steam vapor cleaner came into my life! It alleviated that nightmare of cleaning my oven!

Can you imagine having 298 degrees of heat, 50 pounds of pressure , a detail nozzle with a  stainless steel brush , and just paper towel to clean a dirty oven ! That is all it takes! It is so effective, it is so fast and such an improvement  ..it is “Fun” to clean up my oven! No longer do those spills from a casserole or pizza or baking a pie get a moan out of my mouth! And those oven racks are so much easier to clean!

Well you might say …I have a self cleaning oven!

My friends don’t like to use the self cleaning feature because it is too hot. very smelly, and leaves a smokey residue on the inner edge of the door which is hard to get off!

The only safe  way to clean an oven is to use steam with pressure. There are no gloves, no caustic smelly chemicals and less time involved . I saw my friend who was in a house remodel transform a filthy wall oven to a sparkly blue enamel clean oven, knowing she had just saved herself from purchasing a new oven!

My friends, save your valuable time, minimize your efforts and today get a Sargent steam cleaner to clean your ovens! The benefits are wonderful! If only my mother could have had a Sargent Steam cleaner in her day ..wouldn’t have life been so much easier for her?

A Curvy”Clean Green Class” !!

July 26, 2008 by cleaninggenie

Last saturday at Curves we had a great ” clean green” class ! We learned about chemicals and how harmful they are, microfiber products that we can use with just plain ole tap water to clean ! Yes Microfiber is excellant for cleaning surfaces!

It is so natural to use steam vapor along with microfiber to clean and shine countertops, stainless steel, and taps, only now with steam you are also sanitizing, and deoderizing those surfaces too.

Curves was a great place to network and get the ” clean green ” message out!

Sargent Steamers are a great asset to the environment and our homes because they take  you can’t pollute with steam!

” cleaning my van”

July 22, 2008 by cleaninggenie

After the long old winter we had here that never seemed to end, my van was filthy. It felt so good to vacuum and steam clean the upholstery , the dashboard, the doors and windows. I have been educated that having a clean car makes it drive better! I believe it !

I had rubber mats for winter , but when they were replaced by the carpet mats, wow ,there were some dirty edges to clean. If you need to clean your vehicle ..using a steam cleaner makes the job faster , easier and much more efficient! I love cleaning with steam for it is a very “felt ” clean.  Detailing my car is not a chore anymore!

“cleaning at a day care “

July 22, 2008 by cleaninggenie

I  visited a day care recently and helped clean a high chair that they had for over 16 years. I used my Sargent Steam cleaner and put a small 1 inch brush on my detail tool and a little hand soap on the end and went to town steaming the cracks and crevises of that chair , It was amazing and fun to see the layers of dirt come off . Do you have places that are hard to reach and dirty ? …that steamer  does a great job blasting out the difficult places to clean. I love it! Do  you need to sanitize , deoderize surfaces? Use a Sargent Steam cleaner!

The Old but Good Adage “Saturday Clean”

January 9, 2008 by cleaninggenie

I try to clean my house each week usually on saturdays. I love the fact that when I go to bed that night, I wake up to a orderly, clean house. That makes my Sabbath day all the better!  I heat up my steamer , Sargent Steam Brz2 , and go through the kitchen starting with the frig, stove, counter tops, sinks and ending with mopping the floor. then on to the bathrooms! Yeh some may think this is crazy but it gives me a lift each week.

Oh that Greasy Stove Top!!

January 9, 2008 by cleaninggenie

I visited my friend to help her make bread and having never been in her kitchen to work , I looked over at her stove and it was a greasy, dirty, builtup grimy appliance. I said, let me go and bring my steam cleaner and we will clean this up fast! I did go home and get my machine and we used the steamer and cleaned the microwave , the face of the stove , the gas burners, the corners and edges that collect dirt and grease and grim. She loved it and did enjoy how fast and easy it is to use steam instead of those chemicals . Cleaning with steam is so environmentally green! The best part is that it feels so good when you are finished. I love it!

Was There Really A Window There?

November 9, 2007 by cleaninggenie

My friend was cleaning her dirty windows , mind you, they were getting the yearly clean and when she used her BRZ2 steam machine on those windows…she said they couldn’t even tell there was glass in the window! Why you might ask? Using steam instead of the usual glass cleaners prevents any petroleum film left to attrack more dirt to the window  ..they just sparkled and never had one streak when the sun hit them !

Dirty Water carpet stain is Steamed clean Fast!

November 9, 2007 by cleaninggenie

It was amazing to see the stain disappear with out hardly a minute working on it . The water had seeped in from the neighboring business and made a huge stain on the carpet in the hallway at the local Gym. I just took a 2 inch brush and attached it to the steam vapor cleaner nozzel and “voila” it was gone and then I took a towel and went over it .It smelled better too.
